Our Story

EMQ's journey began in 2013 with the launch of EMQX, the open source MQTT broker. Founded in 2017 to deliver a unified MQTT platform for IoT and AI, EMQ enables organizations to seamlessly connect, process, and stream real-time data from millions of devices to any cloud, data, or AI platform.

Today, EMQ connects over 500 million devices and 25 million vehicles worldwide. We are trusted by more than 1,500 enterprise clients, including industry leaders such as BMW, Ericsson, Geely, HPE, Lucid, PepsiCo, Signify, Verifone, and Volkswagen.

Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, EMQ is on a mission to bridge the physical world with artificial intelligence. We operate an R&D center in Stockholm and a business hub in Boston, alongside 10 global offices.
