EMQ Announces General Availability of EMQX Tables: A Fully Managed Time-Series Database for IoT Data

Fully managed, purpose-built time-series storage now generally available in EMQX Cloud with expanded sizing and deeper broker integration.

MENLO PARK, Calif., December 1, 2025EMQ, the world’s leading provider of MQTT messaging and IoT data infrastructure, today announced the General Availability (GA) of EMQX Tables, a fully managed time-series database natively integrated into EMQX Cloud. EMQX Tables allows developers to store, query, and analyze MQTT data in place, eliminating the need for external databases or additional integration layers.

Following a successful public preview that engaged hundreds of participants, EMQX Tables is now open to all users with expanded deployment options and broader integration support.

From Preview to Production-Ready

Since launching in public preview on November 4, 2025, EMQX Tables has been tested and refined through direct collaboration with preview program participants. Their feedback has been instrumental in shaping a service that is now ready for production workloads.

"We're grateful to every developer and team who joined our preview program," said Benniu Ji, VP of Products at EMQ. "Their insights helped us validate the core value proposition: that IoT developers want a simpler way to manage the complete data journey from device to insight. Today, we're delivering on that promise at scale."

What's New in GA

With general availability, EMQ is removing the constraints of the preview period and introducing expanded capabilities:

  • Flexible Deployment Tiers: EMQX Tables now offers four deployment options, ranging from 2 vCPU / 8 GB to 16 vCPU / 64 GB. For large-scale deployments, EMQ now provides tailored custom configurations.
  • Broader EMQX Broker Integration: Previously limited to Dedicated Flex deployments, EMQX Tables integration is now available across all EMQX Broker editions, including Serverless users and existing Dedicated customers.
  • Production-Ready Infrastructure: Purpose-built for IoT workloads, EMQX Tables delivers the performance and reliability required for mission-critical applications.

EMQX Tables is currently available on AWS in the N. Virginia (us-east-1) region, with additional regions planned for early 2026.

A Unified MQTT Data Platform for AI and IoT

EMQX Tables represents EMQ's continued evolution from MQTT broker to a comprehensive IoT data platform. By combining fully managed MQTT messaging (EMQX Broker) with native time-series storage (EMQX Tables), EMQX Cloud now offers a unified solution that eliminates the integration complexity traditionally associated with IoT data infrastructure. Key capabilities include native MQTT integration via Rule Engine, automatic schema inference, multi-protocol query support (SQL, PromQL, InfluxDB Line Protocol), and seamless connectivity to visualization tools like Grafana and Metabase.
